The Opportunity: An international precious metals miner is putting a renewed focus on increasing their technical foundation across exploration, resource, and mining engineering quality as part of a new 5-year plan. They are looking to source a Group Mining Engineer for their international assets in Central, Latin and South America.

Job title: Group Mining Engineer
Location: Oversees EXPAT, Residential - Latin America or North America with 25% - 35% site travel
Roster: Travel to sites when needed
Salary: USD Gross salary + STIP and LTIP
Timeframe: ASAP Start
- Some of the key requirements for this position include:
- Directing all engineering activities associated with the region
- Develop and execute overall strategy for mining engineering
- Optimise grade control
- Train, mentor and implement systems on the sites / operations to improve the competency of engineering team
- Conduct site audits for the sake of improvements on each site or for the overall region
- Have expertise on mine planning - short term, medium term, long term and strategic
- Monitor completion of economic evaluations and feasibility studies on underground and open pit projects
- Provide top-level support and advice to senior stakeholders regionally and corporate
- Firm understanding of resource modelling from an engineering perspective
Top Line Requirements:
- Operational experience
- Track record in a role that liaises directly with corporate and site-level
- Medium to large scale Open pit experience
- Expat experience
- Solid leader, not just a manager, but a leader of people
- Working in a fast paced environment
