Staff Software Engineer - Logistics Customer (all genders) [Germany]

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer (all genders) to join our Seamless Domain in Logistics and help us create fast and reliable services that will be used by our platforms all around the world. You will work closely with cross-functional product teams to drive the reliability, quality, stability, and scalability of our services that predict delivery times and enable millions of customers every day to track their delivery. Your mission:

  • Set standards for engineering excellence by example and mentorship.

  • Drive technological improvements through RFCs or other tools to explain, discuss and align decisions paving the future of our solutions.

  • Identify skill gaps in our squads and advise domain leads accordingly.

  • Assist domain leads to set the technical vision and strategy.

  • Be a compelling sparring partner for senior engineers, leads and staff engineers in other domains

  • Lead the creation and improvement of scalable and reliable systems.

  • Evaluate complex technical setups, identify trade-offs and provide technical advice.

  • Enable visibility of our system’s KPIs through meaningful metrics, dashboards, and alerts.

  • Drive technical learning sessions and initiatives.

  • Pair with other engineers focusing on best practices, design patterns, and system design

  • Challenge the status quo and propose iterative improvements aligned with the business goals.

  • Align with internal and external stakeholders on technical solutions

  • Embrace cross functional collaboration between data, product and engineering

Your heroic skills:

  • Experience in designing and implementing large scale systems backed by machine-learning.

  • Very deep understanding & proven experience of JVM-based technologies (Kotlin knowledge is a plus)

  • Experience with complex microservice architectures, event-driven topologies, and their observability

  • You have a deep understanding of different layers of a software stack and can be hands-on in all of them when needed

  • You are a seasoned Engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-scale, high-impact solutions

  • You understand the business goals and design systems taking into account future needs.

  • You have excellent communication skills and can clearly explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • You are passionate about technology and are not afraid to put forward and defend your opinions where needed.

  • You have the ability to lead and drive technical initiatives across multiple teams.
